1. 3 large russet potatoes, peeled & cut in half lengthwise 2. ½ cup whole milk 3. ¼ cup butter 4. Salt & ground black pepper to taste

Place potatoes in a large pot and cover with salted water. Bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until tender, 20 to 25 minutes.
