Chocolate Chip Christmas Cookies

To Make Popular Christmas Desserts, Now to get started we are going to be mixing up a really simple but delicious brownie batter, or more accurately it’s sort of like a brownie dough because it’s much thicker than a traditional brownie batter

Ingredients –

  • 1/2 Cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 Cup Melted Butter
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 3/4 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 tsp Flaked Sea Salt For Garnish
  • 11/2 Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 1/4 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Packed Brown Sugar

Direction –

Step 1

To Make Popular Christmas Desserts, Now it all starts with some melted butter in my bowl now to that I’m going to be adding some sugar as well as some cocoa powder and then I’m just going to get in here with my hand mixer and give this a quick beef I probably should have used the bigger bowl for this I’m realizing but I’m committed.

Step 2

To Make Popular Christmas Desserts, I’m also going to be adding some flour to this as well as two eggs I like cracking my eggs into a bowl first that way I don’t risk getting any shells into my batter do you think I’ve made a big enough mess yet I’m just going to add a little bit of salt to this as well as some vanilla extract and I’ll give it one more beat.

Step 3

Now that my brownie batter is complete I just want to add one more secret ingredient to this part of my recipe and that is some semi-sweet chocolate chips now this step is optional but I’ll just say half of your cookie is going to be loaded with chocolate chips why shouldn’t the other half become one we’ve had a rough year we’ve earned some extra chocolate chips wouldn’t you agree

Step 4

To Make Popular Christmas Desserts, I’m just going to use my spatula to sort of fold in my chocolate chips and as soon as those chocolate chips are just combined I’m going to go ahead and get this into the refrigerator for between 15 and 20 minutes I just want to chill this dough slightly so that it’s nice and solid when I go to mix it with my chocolate chip cookie dough in just a little bit

Step 5

Now that the brownie half of our cookies is complete it’s time to turn our attention to the chocolate chip cookie half so we’re just going to be mixing up a pretty classic chocolate chip cookie dough here starting with our dry ingredients I’ve got some all-purpose flour in my bowl to that I’m going to add some baking soda as well as a little bit of salt and we’ll just whisk those together you just want to make sure your dry ingredients are nicely incorporated before you combine them with your wet ingredients.

Step 6

To Make Popular Christmas Desserts Next, I’ll get to work on my wet ingredients so in a bowl i have got some room temperature butter to that I’m going to add some brown sugar and some white sugar and I’m just going to use my hand mixer to blend those together until they’re nice and light and fluffy.

Step 7

To Make Popular Christmas Desserts Next, I’ll add one egg to this and a good splash of vanilla extract as soon as those are all combined I’ll finish this off by dumping in my dry ingredients and you’ll see what I end up with is this really nice dough.

Step 8

The final step here as with any great chocolate chip cookie recipe is adding the chocolate chips once again I’m using those same semi-sweet chocolate chips and I’m just going to fold them into my dough

okay guys so I’ve got my brownie goodness my chocolate chip cookie goodness and now it’s time to blend the two together in holy cookie matrimony to do that I’m just going to use my cookie scoop to make sure everything stays nice and uniform and I’ll grab one large handful of my brownie mixture

Then the exact same amount of my cookie mixture and I’m just going to squeeze them into a sort of little balls and then I’m going to merge them together like so and basically form them into one single cookie entity

Now this is not science so go ahead get a little messy with it it’s also a really fun job for the kids to help with so don’t hesitate to get them into the kitchen

once all of my cookies are ready the final step is adding a nice sprinkling of flaked sea salt to these

Step 9

To Make Popular Christmas Desserts, Now you guys probably know by now how much I absolutely love the combination of salty and sweet so if you’ve got flake sea salt on hand I highly recommend you give this a try if you want to skip the salt in this recipe you definitely can but it really makes a difference in the final flavor of these cookies as far as I’m concerned so definitely worth doing as soon as these are properly salted you can go ahead and get them into the oven at 350 degrees for between 13 and 15 minutes you don’t want to overcook these cookies because you don’t want them to be too hard you want them to stay nice and soft and chewy and when they come out of the oven

they look and smell divine in fact my whole kitchen right now smells like delicious chocolate what is not to love about that

Now these cookies are soft chewy chocolatey absolutely delectable and best served with a nice big glass of milk

I honestly can’t begin to tell you guys how much I think you’re going to love these cookies if you do give them a try for yourselves

Best Snowball Cookie Recipe

Hello Lovelies, I hope you’ve had a wonderful holiday season so far and while the weather outside may be pleasant, baking in my kitchen is so enjoyable and we absolutely love it with delectable melt-in-the-mouth Going to snow with Popular Christmas Desserts Snowball Cookies Now if you’ve never had these cookies they are an absolute classic and I must say I’ve been craving them for weeks.

Now so I’m so excited to be finally making them the best part is not only do they taste absolutely delicious but they are super simple to make, now I find one of the secrets to achieving that melt-in-your-mouth texture that snowball cookies are so well known for is actually really finely chopping your nuts

To Make Popular Christmas Desserts recipe, I’m going to be using some pecans but you could also do this with walnuts if you want to both are pretty traditional now you do have the option to use just straight up chopped pecans in this recipe but I find you get the best texture in your cookie if you run your pecans through your food processor first until you reach the texture of sort of coarse crumbs

Here we go we’re just going to give this a quick couple pulses until I’ve got coarse crumb texture and then we can get to work on mixing up our dough now making the dough for this recipe couldn’t be simpler it’s just six ingredients in a single bowl so there is a lot to love.

Ingredients –

  • 1 Cup – Butter, At Room Temperature
  • 2/3 tsp – Salt
  • 2/3 Cup – Powdered Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Cups – All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Cup – Finely Chopped Pecans

Direction –

Step 1

Now to get started I have got some room temperature butter sitting in my bowl always important to be baking with room temperature butter especially when it comes to cookies it’s going to make your life so much easier with my butter I am going to be adding some powdered sugar and a splash of vanilla extract now it’s really important to use powdered sugar here because that’s how you achieve that amazing melt-in-your-mouth texture that makes snowball cookies so incredible

Step 2

I’m going to get in here with my hand mixer you want to blend it for about two to three minutes or just until the mixture is nice and light and fluffy that means it’s time to add your remaining ingredients here so I’ve got some flour as well as my chopped pecans and just a little helping of salt.

Step 3

Once you’ve got all of that in your bowl you can go ahead and get back in here with your hand mixer what you end up with after another minute or two of mixing is a nice thick dough and that means it’s time to get rolling our snowballs and to do that I’m going to be using my handy dandy cookie scoop you could just as easily use a tablespoon if you wanted to here but I like a cookie scoop because it keeps your cookies nice and evenly sized

Step 4

So I’m just going to roll it in my hand and arrange each of my little snowballs on a parchment-lined baking sheet this is a perfect job to keep the kids busy if they’re out of school I love this dough especially because it’s got no raw egg in it so you could technically just eat it out of the bowl

with a spoon not that I’m saying you should but you could and I definitely gave it a try before I started rolling quality control in the kitchen people that’s what it’s all about.

Step 5

Now at this point instead of popping these straight into the oven we want to help them retain their shape as best as possible during the cooking process and to do that I like to put them in the refrigerator first so you want to chill these for between 30 minutes and 45 minutes

just until they’re nice and cold then you can get them into a preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for between 12 and 14 minutes or just until they’re set you definitely do not want to over bake snowball cookies they’re meant to be nice and soft and tender and sort of fall apart when you bite into them

Step 6

Now it’s time to get our snow on so once your cookies are out of the oven you want to let them cool for just two or three minutes just until they’re cool enough to handle and then basically what you’re going to do while your cookies are still warm is you’re going to roll them in a bowl like this of powdered sugar this is really the most important part because this is how they get their snowy appearance and the fact that the cookies are warm is just gonna help them really sort of getting that sugary coating sort of absorbed in

Step 7

Once these beauties have had a chance to cool completely it is time for around two in that amazing powdered sugar and that my friends are where the real magic happens it’s where you get that snowy exterior that makes these cookies such showstoppers

I absolutely love these beautiful cookies when served with coffee or hot chocolate

They are just such a wonderful treat after a nice big holiday meal and they also make an incredible edible gift so if you’ve got some loved ones that you’re not going to be seeing this holiday season you can make a nice big batch package them up and then do some special deliveries socially distanced of course guys, I hope you love these festive holiday cookies as much as I do and that you’ll give them a try for yourselves if you do be sure to Follow me Pinterest.
